Help
Within the last seven months I have had three hospital stays and two surgeries, with weeks of recovery following each visit. My last surgery was in late January, in which I had a complete thyroidectomy. Having a thyroidectomy requires that one take hormone therapy for the rest of their lives. Since early February to date, I have been on three different dose levels of hormone replacement therapy. Yes, that's right, in less than eight weeks I have had my meds changed three times. I have gone through every emotion and physical anomaly you can imagine during the last eight weeks: sleeping fifteen to twenty hours, not sleeping for twenty-four hours, crying, irritated, isolation, happy, energetic, sad....you name it I have been through it. My husband normally helps me to acknowledge the mood I am in with laughter, for instance one night we were talking, well, I was talking and suddenly he burst out in laughter. I looked at him and said, "why are you laughing at me," He replied, "because you just went around the world and back in less than ten minutes." I had to laugh with him of course, because he was right, I was rambling on steroids and that's not normal for me.
Psalms 121:1-2 I will lift up my eyes to the hills, From whence comes my help?

My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.
Maintaining a sense of normalcy has been rough during these life changing events, but one thing has remained consistent during it all, and that is my remembrance of how many times God has brought me through uncertain times, because of this, I feed my spirit daily with some genre of His Word: song, teaching, reading, or hearing, because through it all, I am confident my help is on the way.
If you are going through uncertain circumstances in your life, including the uncertainty of the current pandemic we are experiencing, I encourage you to find every opportunity you can to infuse your spirit with praise, prayer and hearing from the God from whence comes your help. In the midst of your circumstance His grace and mercy are activated because He hears, sees and acknowledges your praise!
Much Love
Melissa
Thank you for the good thoughts for trying times. Proverbs 3:5-6 is one of many encouraging passages I run to in scripture. May God continue to bless you.
